Topic: News & Announcements / New Releases for Morph HelpME

We are happy to announce that we have just successfully released a number of new, helpful features and a patch to fix a critical bug in Morph HelpME.

We added a new theme — Harriet the Gray. For those of you who want to give their readers a fresh and clean-looking UI environment, we bring you good news with the addition of Harriet the Gray. The beautiful combination of the colors gray, white, and black produces a clean and simple yet elegant user interface that provides a relaxing background, allowing your readers to focus more on what’s important — your content.

Grant user roles. With this release, you will have a more structured and a more organized collaboration with the other users, as there will now be four types of users, each with different rights and privileges. The four user roles are: Viewers, Authors, Editors, and Admins. See below for the definition of each roles.

  1. Viewers – can view only the public UI of the site, whether it is set to public or private.
  2. Authors – can do what viewers can do. Authors can also add and manage own pages.
  3. Editors – can do what viewers and authors can do. Editors can add and manage any pages.
  4. Admins – can do what viewers, authors, and editors can do. Admin can also manage user roles and can modify the site’s settings, through the Settings page.

Set a Morph helpME site as public or private. Morph helpME users will now have more control over their site as this release includes a mechanism that allows them to set their site as public (available to anybody who accesses the site) and private (available only to registered users).

Note: Only Admins can manage the site’s settings.

List resources in the table of contents. Users can now display their resources to the Public UI’s Table of Contents, just as they would with pages. To do this, add a new or edit an existing resources and then enter the desired label under the “Table of Contents Label” field.

We’ve also fixed the bug that prevents Morph helpME from launching when the user trying to launch the application once modified his original email address and/or username.

Topic: News & Announcements / The New Morph AppSpace Forum

Along with the other major products changes that we’ve implemented the past few months, another changes to be added to that list is the separation of the Morph AppSpace Forum from the Morph eXchange Forum.

This transition will give us a more organized and a more structured forum support, allowing us to efficiently monitor and respond to user queries. This enhancement will also help our users with how they navigate and interact with our forums.

To access the Morph AppSpace Forum, you may go to http://forums.mor.ph. Morph eXchange will remain in its previous URL http://forum.morphexchange.com.

Topic: Tips & Tricks / custom cap tasks? (Moved)

Hi -

I have a small capistrano task that updates the version number of my app. What would i have to do to make it work in my Morph app?

Here’s the whole thing in case anyone else is interested in doing this, as it is working on my staging VM (hosted elsewhere):

  1. deploy.rb namespace :deploy do desc “Insert the current revision number into the _version.rhtml file” task :update_version_in_layout, :roles => :web do put(current_revision, ”#{release_path}/app/views/layouts/_version.rhtml”) end end after “deploy:update”, “deploy:update_version_in_layout”
  1. application.html.erb (or .rhtml)
    <%= render :partial => “layouts/version” %>

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions!

Topic: Questions & Answers / Is there a way to get a DB Dump?

Hi Amarillo,

It seems as though Tracks is exporting a CSV file that PHPMyAdmin doesn’t understand. What I’d like to do is pinpoint where the problem lies (including if it’s from our end). So could you do the following for me:

1. From your local (not the one in Morph eXchange) Tracks installation, export your data in CSV format.

2. Try to import the data again using PHPMyAdmin.

If you’re still getting an error in step 2, that could mean Tracks is producing a CSV file that PHPMyAdmin doesn’t understand.

Hello Mark,

The Tracks developers sent me to you (i.e. MorphExchange forum).
They’re working on an import function, but it won’t be ready until v1.7.

Hello Amarillo,

I apologize for the late reply. Have you consulted the developer of Tracks re this issue? I’d also suggest that you post this problem in the PHPMyAdmin forums as they may know about this issue.

Topic: Questions & Answers / Is there a way to get a DB Dump?

Hi again,

I tried to import the csv file using PHPMyAdmin as recommended. But I always get the following error:
bq. Invalid field count in CSV input on line 1.
My settings are:
  • character set: utf8
  • start at line 1 (to skip fieldnames)
  • input format: csv
  • fields terminated by ,
  • fields enclosed by ”
I also tried some other settings. Does anyone have an idea what’s wrong here?

thanks,
amarillo

Topic: Questions & Answers / Is there a way to get a DB Dump?

Hi amarillo,

Your best option right now is to use Tracks’ export function to get your data in CSV format. After that, use a tool such as PHPMyAdmin to import or inject your data directly into your local Tracks installation’s database.

Topic: Questions & Answers / FAQs for Morph Credits, Payments, and Billing

  1. What is a Morph Credit?
A Morph Credit is the currency used to subscribe to applications in the Morph eXchange. This is also the same unit of payment used for Morph AppSpace subscriptions.

  2. What currencies do you accept to buy Morph Credits?
The following lists the currencies that we are currently accepting:
    • US Dollar
    • Australian Dollars
    • Euro
    • Hong Kong Dollars
    • Japanese Yen
    • Singapore Dollars

  3. How do I purchase a Morph Credit?
You can buy Morph Credits through the Account tab.

  4. What is the maximum number of Morph Credit that I can purchase?
You can buy a maximum of 10,000 Morph Credits at a time.

  5. What is the minimum number of Morph Credits that I can purchase?
You must purchase at least 10 Morph Credits at a time.

  6. I couldn’t complete my Morph Credit purchase, why is that?
This means that your payment was rejected by PayPal. This may have occurred for a number of reasons, for instance, not having sufficient funds on your card or bank account to complete the transaction. Please check if PayPal currently supports purchases from within your country.

  7. Do I have the option to choose which currency I want to use?
Yes, but if you are based in the USA, you can only pay using US Dollars.

  8. Can I change my currency selection?
Yes. You can do this on your Account tab or click here to go directly to that page.

  9. Can anyone change the currency account?
Only Account Administrators can change currency selection.

  10. Why is my PayPal order still pending?
This is depends on how you deposited money in your PayPal account. If you paid with a credit card, the payment is automatically sent to us and your Morph Credit balance is credited immediately. However, payments using eCheck or Internet Transfer will remain as pending in our system until the payment has cleared with PayPal. As soon as it clears, your Morph eXcange account will be credited.

  11. What payment methods do you accommodate?
We are using PayPal to handle payments. PayPal accepts payment via credit card, electronic bank transfers and eChecks.

  12. How do I get charged and how often do I get billed for my subscriptions?
All subscription payments are prepaid, excluding subscription payments for Morph AppSpaces. You need to purchase Morph Credit before you can subscribe to an application. You need to have enough credits in your account in order to make the subscription process successful. When you have successfully subscribed, you will be charged with the corresponding subscription fee. Except for Morph AppSpace subscriptions, all other applications on the Morph eXchange bill you in 31 day increments at the set price (of the application) for the selected currency. Morph AppSpace subscriptions employ a daily billing, depending on the size of the Morph AppSpace used by your application.

Morph AppSpaces are billed after the fact. You cannot subscribe to a Morph AppSpace if your credits will not last you a day’s worth of operation for the Morph AppSpace subscription plan selected. Billing is done based upon UTC 24 hr day. Note that subscriptions are billed exclusively.

  13. What is an overage?
An overage is an excess either in bandwidth or storage. For Morph AppSpace subscriptions, we charge an overage fee if your Morph AppSpace utilizes storage and/or bandwidth in excess of the allocated amount. The overage fee is broken down and computed by day based upon use.

  14. How much do you charge for overages?
Charges for Morph AppSpace overages are as follows:
    • Bandwidth = 1 Morph Credit for each additional 4GB combined in/out data transfer
    • Storage = 1 Morph Credit (per month or any partial month) for each additional 3GB of storage space.

Note that we allow partial credits. For instance, if your bandwidth overage is only 1GB or below, then we will charge 0.25 credit. The atomic unit for bandwidth and storage is 1GB. Thus, 0.4 GB will be rounded off to 1GB, 1.3 GB will be rounded off to 2 GB, and so on.

  15. What happens if I don’t have enough credit to continue a subscription?
When you run out of credits, you will not be able to gain access to the application. Pertaining to Morph AppSpaces—when you run out of credits or when your credit reaches zero (0), we will automatically shut down your Morph AppSpace. No grace period will be provided for now.

  16. Is there a grace period?
No grace period will be provided for now.

  17. Do you offer refunds?
No, we currently do not provide refunds.

  18. Where can I view my bills and print an invoice?
You have to log in to your Morph eXchange account in order to view your bills. Select the Account tab and click on View outstanding/upcoming bills or View billing history.

  19. I would like to pay by bank transfer, by cheque or other alternative. Is this accepted?
We currently offer payment via credit card or bank transfer in a number of countries. Please refer to the PayPal site for more information.

  20. Can I use one PayPal account to purchase for multiple Morph eXchange accounts?Yes.

  21. How do I sign up for a Paypal account?
Log in to PayPal to create an account.

  22. What is PayPal?
PayPal is the safer, easier way to pay and get paid online. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information.
  23. How do I cancel a withdrawal from my PayPal account?
Once you have initiated a withdrawal from your PayPal account it cannot be cancelled. Visit PayPal for more information.

  24. My subscription status shows that the process was successful but I have no credits?
It typically take seconds or minutes at the longest to process your subscriptions. Although in some cases, customers might experience longer delays in between subscription being processed and credits appearing in balances.

If this is so, we suggest you attempt to use the application, even if the credits do not appear. Your will receive your credits shortly, the money will not be lost. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

  25. What data errors may have caused my payment to fail?
Your payment may have failed due to incorrect personal details, such as name, billing address, billing city & postal code, or billing country. Note that these details need to correspond with the details your card issuer or bank has on file. Please ensure you have the correct details and re-try. If you had successfully paid with this PayPal account before, please check with your credit card provider or your bank account information.

Topic: Questions & Answers / Is there a way to get a DB Dump?

Hi!

I’ve tested Tracks and GTD on MorphExchange thoroughly and decided to host my own installation of Tracks.
The system is running and now I want to migrate my tasks from MorphExchange.
Tracks does provide an export function for all the data, but, as I found out on the developer forum, the import function is not finished yet.
So, is there a way to get a MySQL dump (or the Sqlite db file) of my data?

thanks,
amarillo
